Ladbrokes Million

Last chances for online qualification for the UK's biggest tournament organised by Ladbrokes

The Ladbrokes Poker Million is arguably the UK’s biggest poker tournament, and this year’s fifth (hence the big V) annual staging draws ever closer, with heats being played and recorded in the next couple of weeks.

The last of the Ladbrokespoker.com online satellites for Poker Million V takes place this month and once the last online hands have been played, 72 lucky players will convene around twelve tables in the west London Studios of Sky TV for the televised live stage of the tournament.

Up for grabs is a slice of the $4.2m prize pool with a first prize of $1.2 million, the richest in European poker history.

A number of celebrities and poker professionals have also been confirmed to play in the tournament which will be shown on Sky Sports 1 and 2 in September. The semi final and final will be shown live on Sky Sports in December.

Dates of televised heats:
Thursday 15th June
Friday 16th June
Monday 19th June
Tuesday 20th June
Wednesday 21st June
Thursday 22nd June
Friday 23rd June

Last year, Tony "spider99" Jones, a forklift driver from Essex, scooped the $1m prize in the live televised final table showdown. He made it through to the tournament by qualifying online via Ladbrokespoker.com all the way to the final where he beat Soccer AM presenter Helen Chamberlain.

With such a large prize fund, expect plenty of big names from the world of poker to take part, plus there is a whole raft of celebrity players set feature in the competition, including sporting legends such as Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor, Steve Davis, Ronnie O’Sullivan, Kenny Dalglish and Ian Rush.
