World Series of Poker Europe to move to Paris

The WSOPE is on the move again. In what will be its third home in only seven years, next year’s event is set to take place in Paris. Previously, the premier European event has been held in London’s Empire Casino between 2007-2010 and following on from that it switched to Cannes in France for the proceeding two years.

The 2013 event is scheduled to take place between October 11-24 at the Casino Barrière Enghien-les-Bains, France’s oldest casino. Located just a few miles outside the centre of the French capital, the casino has recently finished an extensive refurb which included the development of a 500-seat theatre perfect which will be the perfect setting for spectators to view televised productions of each of the final tables.

Commenting on the event, WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart stated “With our ideal dates scheduled to avoid conflicts for traveling players, expanded TV coverage and qualifiers planned, we expect to be back in record-setting mode in 2013.”

So far exact details about the number and type of tournaments plus detailed schedules are still to be confirmed but WSOP sources have revealed that there will be at least 7 bracelet events, including a high-rollers tournament, and of course the biggie; the €10,000 Main Event.
