Toshiba's World Cup gamble

Toshiba is getting into the spirit of the World Cup by offering 66 per cent price discounts on a range of notebooks… if England win the World Cup.

The significance of 66, of course, is that was the year in the last century when England previously managed to win the tournament

The significance of 66, of course, is that was the year in the last century when England previously managed to win the tournament.

For example, while a Toshiba Qosmio G30 notebook would sell for £1,500, customers who register the purchase would receive a £990 refund if England lift the big gold trophy.

Toshiba is an official sponsor of the World Cup and is keen to get England supporters taking a punt on a notebook purchase. Any Intel Centrino Duo-based machine is covered and – with no limit on the number of notebooks – the promotion is open to consumers, channel partners and distributors.

‘We are offering everyone another reason to be cheering on England this summer,’ declared Andy Bass, General Manager at Toshiba Computer Systems Division UK.

Notebooks must be bought and registered at www.toshiba.co.uk/66 by 8 June in order to qualify. The full terms and conditions are on the website.
