World Series of Poker 2015: Did we get our Top 5 wishlist?

Two issues ago we asked for five things at the World Series Of Poker – did we get them all?

1. Bracelets for Phils?

We wanted 14 for Hellmuth and 11 for Ivey, but one out of two’s not bad. We hardly got any Ivey though, and a very subdued one at that in the Super High Roller Cash Game. Has Macau broken his spirit? (0.5)

2. Female at the Main Event final table?

Once again the Main Event final table has disappointed us by being 100% male. It wasn’t a good series for women, with just one bracelet outside of the Ladies event. (0)

3. Doyle in main or $50k?

He didn’t enter the $50k PPC and he didn’t play the Main Event. He did play the Super Seniors but we’ll have to face the fact that we’re not going to see Doyle make a big splash at the WSOP again. (0.5)

4. Twitcher to make final table of online event?

Dutch Boyd, among others, streamed the bracelet event, so we got to watch as he survived an all-in with A-K against Aces on a 2-3-4-5 board. He made the cash but he didn’t make the final table. (0.5)

5. More at the main event?

After two slow Day 1s it looked like numbers were going to be significantly down on last year. Then Day 1C turned out to be the busiest in history. A couple of hundred players shy of last year is pretty good, but it doesn’t help our total. (0)

Total: 1.5/5

A disappointing score but it could have been much worse. Here’s to the 2016 WSOP…
