Full schedule for the 2015 Paddy Power Poker Irish Open announced

Europe’s oldest no-limit tournament is back with an increased buy-in – qualify online now for as little as €5

The Irish Open is one of the most prestigious dates on the poker calendar. First run in 1980, the Irish Open attracted the world’s greatest players including the likes of Stu Ungar, Doyle Brunson and Chip Reese. More recently it was won by Neil Channing in 2008 – still by far his biggest win – and last year’s champion, Patrick Clarke, turned a €4 satellite seat into €250k! Not a bad return on investment. It could be even better for you this year. The buy-in has been increased to €3,500 (up from €2k last year) which means the first prize is going to be even juicier.

The full schedule for the 2015 Irish Open has just been released and it will run at the DoubleTree Hotel, Dublin over five days from April 2-6.

Patrick Thornton, head of Paddy Power Poker, said, ‘We’re still in 2014 but the excitement is already building ahead of next year’s Irish Open. We’ve put together a great schedule of side events for the Open which should cater for everyone in attendance. Last year the Irish Open attracted 411 players in the main event and the winner, Ireland’s Patrick Clarke who also won the Sole Survivor competition, pocketed himself €250,000 having qualified through our Cheap Seats promotion. This year we’re expecting the prize pool to increase significantly which will no doubt lead to a bigger and better event.’

There are already several well-known players confirmed to play at the Irish Open 2015, such as Poker Hall of Famer Mike Sexton, WSOP 2012 finalist Eoghan O’Dea and more.
