“This magazine launched all the way back in 2005 and by that time the European Poker Tour was already one year old. The brainchild of John Duthie, the EPT was launched at the right time and, in PokerStars, had the backer to ensure it went the distance. But there’s more to the EPT than that. The hall was empty when he posed for his winner’s photo, but the smile on his face was huge. It’s been one hell of a year for him. Meanwhile, the EPT is set to go global with PokerStars new Championship and Festival events. It might be sad to lose the EPT but it had, as people say, a glorious innings”
