PokerStars announce new TV show ‘The Shark Cage’

PokerStars has launched a series of online qualifying tournaments for a new TV show called ‘The Shark Cage’ which will feature a winner-take-all first prize of $1 million. The first two televised heats of the show will take place at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in January 2014.

The Shark Cage is a series of eight heats (spread across various EPT stops throughout the year) that will culminate in a final table where one player will scoop the $1 million first prize. Each heat will comprise five of the biggest names in poker and an online qualifier – much like ‘The Big Game’ – one of our favourite poker shows in recent years.

To be in with a shot at winning a trip to the Caribbean in January, and play in one of the televised heats, PokerStars players simply need to make a deposit using one of the bonus codes listed here.

Each qualifying tournament will have a $5,000 added cash prize and the top 50 players from each of the six qualifiers will get a chance to audition for ‘The Shark Cage’ TV show. To do this, a qualifying player will have to record a video audition in English, upload it to YouTube and then email the link to before December 9. The PokerStars judges will make their decision based on ‘personality, enthusiasm, humour and talent.’

Sounds like I should get the video camera out…
