GUKPT: Leeds up next for the UK’s biggest live poker tour

248 players smashed the guarantee at GUKPT Reading – Qualify now for the next leg in Leeds

Last month we reported on Julian Davies, who won the GUKPT Cardiff for £25,000. He was back in the thick of it at GUKPT Reading, threatening to become the first man to win back-to-back main events.

He made the final table but was eliminated in fourth spot for another bumper payday of £17,200. It left Raul Martinez and Hui Jin heads-up, and after agreeing a deal the two enjoyed an epic encounter, which Martinez won with A-7 against pocket Fives.

Lee Doran, Aaron Biggs and Florian Andrei all deserve a special mention too. They qualified through satellites for a fraction of the £550 buy-in and spun this up to cashes of £2,860, £3,340 and £3,970 respectively.

Leeds leg

If you fancy doing the same, the next stop on the tour is GUKPT Leeds, which runs July 26 – August 2. The £500+£50 main event starts Thursday July 30. £5.50 feeders run nightly at 8.30pm on GrosvenorPoker.com into the £50+£5 direct satellite on Tuesdays at 8pm. You can also go the rebuy route, with £3.30 feeders into the £30+£3 rebuy satellite on Sunday at 8.30pm. If you prefer the live game there are £20 rebuy satellites at the Grosvenor Casino Leeds July 26-30, with an additional £55 freezeout on Wednesday at 9.30pm.
