Sofia Lovgren: Moving day

I’m sitting on a plane right now on my way to Prague to play the next leg of the EPT – wish me luck!

In the middle of November I went to London for PKR Live. PKR Live is one of the most fun poker weekends of the year because I get to see all of my online friends in real life. Pokerwise, PKR Live wasn’t a big hit for me though. I made Day 2 of the main event but was short on chips and busted early after losing a flip, but with so many nice friends there I still had a great, fun time in London.

The last few weeks I have been back in Sweden grinding a lot online. I played 60,000 hands of 6-max cash games in two weeks and finished up with a decent profit. I was grinding so hard because PKR.com were running a rake race this month, called the ‘Equaliser’. Some of the sit-and-go grinders played massive volumes and were hard to beat but I was happy to finish in fifth place.

Aside from this month I must confess that I could have played a lot more online this year. One reason for this is a fun project of mine in Malta, which is one of my favourite places in Europe. If you want to come to a relaxing place to play poker, Malta is awesome with the nice climate, the delicious food and Casino Portomaso in the harbour. Some nice tournaments are arranged there every year like the WPT, Battle of Malta and even the Swedish Championship of Poker.

Me and my boyfriend just bought an apartment in Malta just next to the Casino and the Hotel Hilton Portomaso and we are hoping to move in January. We’ve had a fun project planning, building and furnishing our new apartment there for the last months. This has been much more time consuming than expected but I love projects!

The Poker Festival in Prague just kicked off so that’s why I’m going there. I’ll play the Eureka Main Event starting on Monday and then the EPT Prague Main Event next week. A final table or a bink would be a great Christmas gift. I’ll come back with a report from Prague in my next blog.
