Premier League: Wayne Rooney is due a goal when Man Utd host Crystal Palace

Only twice in the last decade has the Scouser struck fewer at this stage of the campaign– we think he’s due in a fairly easy home fixture

No other player on the Etihad pitch will have been quite as frustrated as Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney by his side’s inability to equalise against Manchester City.

However, the recent returnee from suspension looks a fine shout at 4/1 with Coral to notch only his fourth United goal of the season when Crystal Palace head to the north west in the Premier League.

Rooney has only bagged three or less for the Red Devils at this stage of the campaign twice, in 2010/11 and 2012/13, and scored in both fixtures against the Eagles last term.

Coach Louis van Gaal stated earlier in the season that his skipper will always start when available, so with Radamel Falcao expected to be missing again through injury, and Robin van Persie palpably struggling to assert himself in recent matches, the 28-year-old gets our vote for anytime scorer.
