GUKPT marches on to Manchester

The red and the blues might be suffering at the moment, but you can trust the GUKPT to bring the thrills back to Manchester next week

Following on from a hugely successful Leg 1, which saw 289 players smash the £200k guarantee in London, the GUKPT heads to Manchester next week for Leg 2 of Season 9.

Last year’s Manchester tourney was a corker, with Rhys Jones coming out on top of a stellar final table which saw Karl Mahrenholz finish seventh and Simon Deadman bag another second place finish – his fourth of 2014 and the first of his GUKPT runner-up spots. Deadman went on to finish second at GUKPT Walsall in May before breaking his hoodoo by winning the Hollywood Poker Open for $351k in June.

There are ten events in total at the Grosvenor Casino Bury New Road in Manchester, kicking off on Sunday night with a £30+£5 Main Event Super Satellite rebuy, with ten £1,090 seats guaranteed.

The Main Event starts on Thursday March 12 with Day 1B on the Friday – both days are 1x re-entry. The final table starts Sunday March 15 where the champion will be crowned.

More satellites

There are two more live satellites for the Main Event at the Grosvenor Casino Bury New Road on Tuesday and Friday this week. And there are two online satellites on Tuesday and Sunday, with two seats guaranteed in each. Feeders run into these from as little as £5 on GrosvenorPoker.com.

As always, all the action will be streamed live (along with all the final tables from the side events), so if you don’t make it you can keep up with all the action from home.
