The Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) returns to Cardiff for the first time in four years

Grosvenor Casinos prestigious GUKPT returns to the Welsh capital of Cardiff

After a four year hiatus Grosvenor Casinos’ flagship tour, the GUKPT, returns to Cardiff’s Grosvenor G Casino this week. The last time the tour was in Cardiff it was PokerPlayer columnist Karl Mahrenholz who took the title, nearly £40,000, and the coveted trophy back across the border to London. Other notable final tablists included Norwegian professional Andreas Hoivold and 2007 WSOP Final Tablist Jon ‘Skalie’ Kalmar.

Grosvenor Casinos are looking to better the 2010 total of 120 players in the hopes of making this year’s £100,000 guaranteed prizepool. With many UK players across the pond at the WSOP there could be a chance of an overlay and a great opportunity for new talent to shine.

The flagship main event kicks off with Day 1A at 1pm today (Thursday July 3). Day 1B begins tomorrow (Friday July 4) at 1pm. There are tons of side events also going on in the Welsh capital – click here for the FULL SCHEDULE.

If you would like to play the £500+50 buy-in Main Event you can find a direct online satellite today at Grosvenorpoker.com
