Unibet UK Tour hits Nottingham for Leg 2 next week

After its first successful stop in Brighton, Unibet Poker is back with another £220 buy-in, £40k guaranteed Main Event

Live poker is enjoying a resurgence at the moment, with top quality tours offering superb structures and guarantees for a small buy-in. Unibet Poker’s UK Tour is the latest and, after a successful first stop in Brighton, it’s heading up to Nottingham’s Alea Casino for Leg 2 next weekend (April 15-17).

The £200+£20 event comes with a £40k guarantee and two €2,000 Unibet Open seats added – one for the winner and one for the longest surviving online qualifier. Over 100 people have already qualified via online and live satellites (at the Alea cardroom) and the final online qualifiers run this weekend on Unibet Poker. Online satellites start at €1 and lead up to the €100 final, where one in five qualify for the €500 package (£220 buy-in plus £130 expenses). Sign up to Unibet Poker today and you’ll get a free €4 UK Tour qualifier ticket to get you started.

Brighton rocks

The UK Tour made its debut at the Rendezvous Casino in Brighton in February when 245 entries created a £49,000 prizepool. Local player Curtis Lambert came out on top, winning the £1k first prize and a €2,000 Unibet Open package.

Lambert went on to play the Unibet Open London event the following month, where he built up an early stack, eliminating previous Unibet Open and WPT winner Iaron Lightbourne, before eventually busting in a KK v AA confrontation – see the video below.

After the Nottingham event the UK Tour is heading back to the Rendezvous Casino Brighton in June. We’ve already booked our seats, so hopefully we’ll see you down there. After Brighton the tour goes to the Alea Glasgow in October and then finishes at the Manchester235 Casino in December.

Unibet Poker’s Marketing Manager, David Pomroy, said: ‘The first leg at Rendezvous Casino Brighton surpassed our expectations, both in terms of the prizepool generated and the atmosphere within the room. This time we’ve almost doubled the number of qualifiers pre-event, with some online qualifiers flying in from as far afield as Canada! Unibet and Caesars Entertainment UK staff will be in the cardroom throughout the event and are always keen to speak to players to discuss any feedback they might have on the events. The tour is still very much in its infancy and we’d like to shape future legs based on player feedback wherever we can.’
